JUNIOR KINDY

Junior Kindy

3 – 4 Years

St Pauls provides a quality play-based learning program that allows children to explore, identify, negotiate and take risks. These important skills allow children to build on their self-confidence and independence.

Our  Program for 3- to 4-year-old ensures our children venture to Kindy with confidence in their social abilities and can self-calm and solve their differences in an appropriate manner.  Our Educators recognise that the pre kindergarten years are an important time of growth and development.  St Paul’s support and encourages each child’s transition to formal schooling by fostering their development through, inquiry and learning opportunities that assist with the development of their individual skills, attitudes and dispositions.

The Commonwealth Government and State Governments have established an Australia wide curriculum for early years learning services – The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and Queensland has the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). These documents describe the principles, practices and outcomes essential to support and enhance young children’s learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school. Every early childhood setting in QLD is mandated to follow this curriculum, how it is applied may vary between settings, but the common practices are a play-based learning environment and where the program strongly reflects the interests of children, families, adults and community.

Our  program features a quality early childhood program that focuses on play. Within our curriculum programming, we intentionally plan for play and actively create opportunities for children to engage and explore through play.
